Women's Ministeries

WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION

The CPC Women's Association is an active and integral part of the church.
Every woman in our congregation is considered a member. We have also
been blessed with the attendance of many of the men.

Our Women's Association is affiliated with Presbyterian Women (USA), and
the Presbyterian Women of Los Ranchos Presbytery,

Our Purpose:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy
Spirit.
* We commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and bible study.
* To support the mission of the church worldwide
* To work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive caring community
of women, that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses
to the promise of God's kingdom.

We strive to support many mission projects, donating to an orphanage in
Kenya, to Threads of Love, collecting baby items for Angel Interfaith Center,
an organization at LA-USC for impoverished families; The Presbyterian
Women (USA) least coin collection, a birthday offering, and thank offering;
Locally we donate food and supplies to Power 4 Youth, COA, and Mary
Magdalene project, and other local community organizations. We also
sponsor an annual Craft Faire which helps support our giving. It has quickly
become popular with the congregation and community.

We meet the third Saturday of the month, September through June, at
11:30 am with a short business meeting, a wonderful catered lunch, and an
interesting program. This is a special time of fellowship and fun for all the
attendees.

THE GATHERING

The Gathering meets the 1st Saturday of each month. We are a group of
couples and singles of all ages. Dinner, along with a program and
entertainment, makes for an enjoyable evening. We meet at 3:00 p.m. until
approximately 5:00 p.m. All are welcome!

LYDIA CIRCLE

The Lydia Circle is a women's fellowship/Bible Study group. We are a branch
of the Women's Association, and we meet on the fourth Monday of the
month at 9:30 a.m. We have a Bible study relating to women's needs.
Refreshments are provided by the members.

In December we sponsor a Christmas Social and invite the entire church for
entertainment and a vast array of goodies. It is our gift to the church family
and friends. We are a group of dedicated and caring Christian sisters. And,
we welcome new members at any time.
